Pork Chops in Milk
I know it sounds weird! I thought so too at first. See, part of being Italian, for me, is all about sharing food and sharing stories. A lot of the dishes here are what I grew up on, or have learned to make from a family member. They are old school recipes.
My Mom and I are always talking about food and recipes. It was during one of those conversations she mentioned making a dish for my Dad similar to this when they lived in Rome. She has always been a fabulous cook! But she picked up some new recipes along the way and has taught me so many of them! I don’t remember eating this as a kid, but I was definitely intrigued. We talked about it and then set out to recreate it. We’ve made it a few times, and I tweaked it to fit my preference.
I know it seems strange, but it is really tasty and really easy. Plus, don’t you need a new pork chop recipe? I know you do! We all get stuck making them the same way all the time. Why is that?
Anyway, put your fears aside and try this!

Pork Chops in Milk
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 6 pork chops thin sliced
- 1 cup milk warm
- 1 dried thyme
- Krazy Mixed Up Salt or Salt & pepper to season the meat
- lemon to squeeze on the meat
Instructions
- Heavily season the pork chops with salt & pepper or Krazy Mixed Up Salt.
- Heat the olive oil in the pan on medium high heat. Add the pork chops. Brown the meat on both sides. I got all mine to fit in my pan, but you may have to brown the chops in batches. About 5-7 minutes
- Once the chops have browned nicely, add the milk to the pan. Add the thyme.
- Continue to cook the chops about 10 minutes or until the pork is cooked through. Taste the sauce and add salt & pepper if needed.
- Transfer the chops to a serving dish and strain the sauce with a small strainer over the meat before serving. Add some extra thyme and a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
